Ingredients

  • 300g ground pork
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 tsp white pepper
  • 1/4 cup chicken or pork broth

Instructions:

    Step 1
  • Combine flour, cold water, and hot water. Knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let rest for 30 mins.
  • Step 2
  • Mix ground pork with ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, salt, and white pepper.
  • Step 3
  • Roll the dough into a log and cut it into small pieces. Roll each into a thin wrapper.
  • Step 4
  • Place a spoonful of filling in each wrapper. Seal and pleat to form dumplings.
  • Step 5
  • Place dumplings in a steamer lined with cabbage leaves. Steam for 20 mins.
  • Step 6
  • Serve hot with dipping sauce made from soy sauce and broth. Enjoy your Xiaolongbao!
