Instructions:

    Step 1
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Step 2
  • In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar, chopped nuts, and ground cinnamon. Set this mixture aside.
  • Step 3
  • Roll out the puff pastry dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into strips about 1 inch wide and 8 inches long.
  • Step 4
  • Take each strip of pastry dough and roll it in the sugar-nut-cinnamon mixture, making sure it's well coated.
  • Step 5
  • Carefully wrap each coated strip around a cream horn mold, starting from the pointed end and spiraling upwards. Ensure the dough overlaps slightly with each turn to prevent unraveling.
  • Step 6
  • Place the prepared pastry horns on the baking sheet and bake them in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy.
  • Step 7
  • While the pastry horns are baking, prepare the pastry cream. In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  • Step 8
  • Once the pastry horns are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Carefully slide the horns off the molds while they are still warm.
  • Step 9
  • Fill each pastry horn with the whipped cream using a pastry bag or a small spoon.
  • Step 10
  • Optionally, dust the tops of the cream horns with a little powdered sugar for an extra touch of sweetness.
  • Step 11
  • Serve your homemade Trdelník pastry cream horns immediately and enjoy this Czech delight!
