Instructions:

    Step 1
  • Making blueberry jam is very easy, and you can make it with lingonberries or blueberries because the process is exactly the same. First, wash the fruit thoroughly and place it in a pot, crush it lightly and add the sugar.
  • Step 2
  • Heat the preparation over high heat until it starts to boil. First stir the red fruit jam for 5 minutes until the blueberries release their juices a little. Keep stirring on high heat and when it boils (7-10 minutes) lower it to medium heat. Then add the lemon and continue to stir until it thickens a little.
  • Step 3
  • The cooking time varies depending on how thick we like the jam, so when it reaches the desired texture, remove it from the heat. It also depends a lot on the type of kitchen and its heat intensity. In my case I finished in approximately 25 minutes. Keep in mind that when it cools it thickens more. If you want, you can grind it to make it finer. Then, use it to decorate a cheesecake, for example, or reserve it in pre-sterilized glass jars.
  • Step 4
  • This homemade blueberry jam can last for months unopened, as long as you re-sterilize the jars once full and closed. As soon as you open the bottle, we recommend consuming it within a maximum period of two weeks. To keep it for longer, you can add a spoonful of lemon juice during preparation.
