Recipe of Lion King orange cookies in a food processor.
Vida Recetas Editorial
These Lion King orange cookies, made in a food processor, are the perfect choice for a children's party or a themed gift. The dough, enriched with orange juice and zest, provides a citrusy aroma that pairs beautifully with the tender, buttery texture. They are very easy to make thanks to the food processor, which mixes all ingredients in seconds, and the result is firm yet delicate cookies, ideal for decorating with colored icing and sprinkles.
Why they work
The combination of butter, powdered sugar, and egg yolks guarantees a melt-in-your-mouth dough, while the orange touch gives it a unique freshness. Also, chilling the dough before baking prevents the cookies from deforming, allowing precise cuts with the molds.
Variations and tips
- If you don't have Lion King molds, use any animal or star shape.
- You can replace the icing with melted chocolate or simply dust with powdered sugar.
- For a no-processor version, mix with an electric hand mixer or by hand.

Directions
-
1
Put all the ingredients for the dough in the robot cup and beat for 40 seconds, speed 5 with the meter set. Pour the dough onto the table sprinkled with flour, make a ball out of it and cut it into three or four pieces. Roll them out a little with a rolling pin and wrap each one separately in film. Store them in the fridge for one hour.
-
2
Remove the pieces of dough from the fridge, as you are going to work them. Roll them out with a rolling pin, about 3 or 4 mm, cut the cookies with the cutter molds and put them on a baking sheet with parchment paper, one next to the other.
-
3
Keep them in the fridge for an hour so that they are firm when cooked, since the dough is quite soft.
-
4
Cook them in a preheated oven at 180° for 7 to 10 minutes. Remove them from the oven and let them cool to room temperature.
-
5
To prepare the icing, whisk the ingredients until they are well integrated. If necessary, add a few drops of water until the desired consistency is achieved.
-
6
Divide it into four composters and, with the food colors, give it the colors that will be needed for decoration. Put them in different pastry bags or in bags like the ones I use.
-
7
Make a frosting border on each cookie and then cover them completely. Allow the frosting to dry.

As you can see in the photos, I cut cookies with different shapes and sizes. The procedure for decorating them is the same. Once the icing coating has dried, the eyes, mouths, stains and footsteps of the animals are drawn.

9
In the photos you can see how to make the most of the four or five colors in all the cookies.

10
The cookies are kept very well in airtight containers, so they can be prepared one or two weeks in advance. Even once decorated, they are well preserved.
