Ingredients

  • 1 cup of dough for tamales
  • 1/2 cup of black mole
  • 1/2 cup of cooked and shredded chicken
  • 1/2 cup of grated cheese
  • 8 banana leaves for tamales
  • 1 tablespoon of oil

Instructions:

    Step 1
  • Heat the oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the shredded chicken until golden brown.
  • Step 2
  • Add the mole negro and cook for a few more minutes until hot.
  • Step 3
  • In a bowl, mix the tamale dough with the chicken and mole until smooth.
  • Step 4
  • Place a banana leaf on a flat surface and place some of the dough mixture in the center.
  • Step 5
  • Add some grated cheese on top of the dough mixture.
  • Step 6
  • Roll the banana leaf into a tamale and secure it with a little thread or a strip of banana leaf. Repeat this process until you finish all the dough.
  • Step 7
  • Place the tamales in a pot of boiling water and cook for about 45 minutes.

  • Serve warm.
