  • 1 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Honey for drizzling
  • Chopped nuts or cinnamon (optional for garnish)

Instructions:

    Step 1
  • n a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Step 2
  • In a separate small bowl, mix the dry yeast with warm water until it dissolves.

  • Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the yeast mixture. Stir until you have a smooth batter. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it rise for 30-45 minutes.

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (180°C).

  • Using two spoons, scoop up small portions of the batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil. Fry until they turn golden brown, turning them for even cooking.

  • Remove the loukoumades and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
