Join me and let's see how to make Grandma's meatballs baked in sauce
Instructions:
Step 1
Dip the slice of bread in milk. Drain the excess milk and place it in a bowl.
Step 2
In the same bowl, place the minced meat, garlic powder, parsley, Parmesan cheese (to taste), cumin, egg, salt and pepper.
Step 3
Mix all the ingredients with your hands until you get a homogeneous mass.
Step 4
Shape the meatballs and pass them through flour.
Step 5
Soak a baking sheet with a little olive oil and bake the meatballs.
Step 6
Depending on the oven, they will be ready by baking for about 10-15 minutes on each side.
Step 7
For the sauce, in a pan, sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic over low heat and with a little olive oil.
Step 8
Halfway through the stew, add the sliced carrot.
Step 9
Add the tomato, the teaspoon of brown sugar and the almonds (in my case I used sliced almonds).
Step 10
Let it cook a little longer.
Step 11
Increase the heat and add the white wine. Allow a minute for the alcohol to evaporate and then add the meat broth.
Step 12
Reduce the heat, cover and let it simmer until the sauce is to your liking.
Step 13
Of course, salt and pepper a little and add a little paprika before covering.
Step 14
These details are to taste.
Step 15
Take the meatballs out of the oven because they will be ready and leave them on absorbent paper for a few minutes to remove any excess oil they may have.
Step 16
Crush the sauce with a blender, add the juice of 1/2 lemon and return to the pan.
Step 17
Add the meatballs and finish cooking.
Step 18
Serve with French fries, rice or any other side dish.
Step 19
In my case, I accompanied the dish with some cooked broccoli and rice.
