In a frying pan with oil, fry the onion and minced garlic a little.

Add the monkfish tails with a little salt, sweet paprika on both sides and a bay leaf.

Let it simmer and cover it for 15 minutes on each side.

Let the monkfish cool, in the same pan or on a rack. Then the center part is removed from the tails.

When serving, mix mayonnaise and cocktail sauce in a bowl.

It is served cold with the sauce on top, accompanied by hard-boiled eggs cut into quarters or white asparagus, with the same sauce or mayonnaise alone.
