Recipe of Cauliflower cake
Vida Recetas Editorial
Cauliflower cake is a versatile and comforting recipe that transforms humble cauliflower into a flavorful main dish or side. Originating from European home cooking, this savory cake combines the softness of cooked cauliflower with a sautéed vegetable mix and a creamy egg and milk batter, all baked until golden and fluffy. It is ideal for those looking to add more vegetables to their diet in a delicious way, as well as for using up a cauliflower sitting in your fridge.
The recipe is very easy to make, perfect for beginner cooks or a weeknight dinner. Its mild flavor can be customized with your favorite spices; here we use sweet paprika and nutmeg, which give it a warm touch. Additionally, it allows variations: you can add other vegetables like broccoli or carrot, or substitute the grated cheese with a vegan one for a dairy-free version.
The result is a cake that is juicy inside and gratinated outside, thanks to the melted cheese and tomato slices. It is served hot, ideal for lunch or dinner, accompanied by a fresh salad or some roasted potatoes. Go ahead and try this different and delicious way to eat cauliflower!
