Join me and let's see how to make Onion bread with wholemeal spelt flour
Instructions:
Step 1
First we will chop the onion into very small pieces. I used sweet onion. Red onion or Figueres onion, but you can use the one you like best.
Step 2
Then add the flour to a bowl and add the chopped onion together with it.
Step 3
Then add the baking powder, a pinch of salt and a cup of oil.
Step 4
Then add the crispy onion and the warm water. Mix well so that a uniform paste is left
Step 5
Let it rest in the bowl for approximately 2 hours or more. The dough has to take shape and air out
Step 6
Once the dough is resting, heat the oven to 200° and prepare the oven tray.
Step 7
I sprinkled some white wheat flour on the countertop, then kneaded and shaped. When the bread is made, the white flour is left on top of it and the color contrasts. It's very rustic! But this is something optional.
Step 8
Place the bread on the tray and bake for about an hour. And voilà!
Step 9
Finally, let the bread rest on a rack so that it can air evenly.
