  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • For the sauce:
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Instructions:

  • In a bowl, coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch until they are well-covered.

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or wok to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken pieces in batches until they are golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per batch. Drain them on a paper towel-lined plate.
