  • 1 can of coconut milk (400 ml)
  • 1 can condensed milk (397 g)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup grated coconut

Instructions:

    Step 1
  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Step 2
  • In a pot, heat the sugar over medium heat until it melts and caramelizes. Pour the caramel into a flan mold and make sure to cover the bottom.
  • Step 3
  • In a bowl, mix the coconut milk, condensed milk, eggs, vanilla essence, and shredded coconut. Beat everything until it forms a homogeneous mixture.
  • Step 4
  • Pour the mixture into the caramelized flan mold.
  • Step 5
  • Place the mold inside a larger container and fill it halfway with water. This is called a water bath.

  • Bake for 1 hour or until the flan is firm to the touch.

  • Let it cool completely before serving.
  • Step 8
  • Unmold and serve alone or with a caramel or fresh fruit sauce.
