  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tbsp apricot jam
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the Sauce:
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup hot water

Instructions:

    Step 1
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a deep baking dish.
  • Step 2
  • In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  • Step 3
  • In another bowl, beat the egg, apricot jam, vinegar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.

  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until a smooth batter forms.
  • Step 5
  • Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the pudding is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center.

  • While the pudding is baking, prepare the sauce. In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, unsalted butter, sugar, and hot water. Heat over low heat, stirring until the butter and sugar are completely dissolved. Do not boil.

  • When the pudding is done, remove it from the oven and immediately pour the hot sauce evenly over the top.

  • Allow the Malva Pudding to sit for a few minutes, allowing the sauce to soak in.
