Recipe of Almond and honey guirlache.
Almond and honey guirlache is a traditional Spanish sweet, especially popular in Aragon, that combines the crunch of almonds with caramel and a touch of honey. This easy and quick recipe lets you make a homemade nougat at home, perfect for Christmas, snacks, or gifts. With only 4 ingredients (almonds, sugar, lemon, and honey), you'll achieve a crispy and aromatic bite that everyone will love.
Why does this recipe work?
The sugar caramel hardens as it cools, creating a brittle texture that contrasts with the toasted flavor of the almonds. The lemon juice prevents the sugar from crystallizing, and the honey adds softness and a floral aroma. This version is ideal for those looking for a no-fuss sweet: no oven or special utensils required.
Variations and tips
- You can substitute almonds with other nuts like walnuts, hazelnuts, or peanuts.
- For a more intense flavor, lightly toast the almonds before using.
