Recipe of Venere rice with prawns, shiitake and Iberian ham
Venere rice with prawns, shiitake and Iberian ham is a recipe that surprises with its elegance and flavor. This dish combines the texture of black rice, the sweetness of prawn, the earthy touch of shiitake mushrooms, and the salty taste of Iberian ham, creating a perfect balance. Originally from Italy, Venere rice (also known as black rice) is a long-grain variety with a high content of anthocyanins, which gives it its characteristic dark color and a slightly nutty flavor.
This recipe is ideal for those looking for a complete and attractive meal, perfect for a special occasion or to impress at dinner. It is easy to prepare and does not require complicated techniques, although a little patience is needed for the sautéing. The combination of ingredients makes it a very nutritious dish, rich in protein, fiber, and healthy fats.
There are variations where Iberian ham is substituted with bacon or pancetta, or a touch of chili is added for a spicy kick. It can also be made with other seafood such as shrimp or scallops. In this version, avocado adds creaminess and freshness, while lemon grass and oregano give it a Mediterranean and exotic aroma.
