How to Make Loukoumades
Instructions
- n a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate small bowl, mix the dry yeast with warm water until it dissolves.
- Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the yeast mixture. Stir until you have a smooth batter. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let it rise for 30-45 minutes.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (180°C).
- Using two spoons, scoop up small portions of the batter and carefully drop them into the hot oil. Fry until they turn golden brown, turning them for even cooking.
- Remove the loukoumades and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Drizzle honey over the loukoumades while they are still warm. Add chopped nuts or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
- Serve these delightful Loukoumades as a sweet treat. Enjoy!
