- Preheat your oven to the broil setting.
- In a skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the scallops and cook them for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until they are lightly browned. Remove them from the skillet and set them aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Sauté the chopped garlic and parsley for about 1 minute.
- Sprinkle the flour over the garlic and parsley mixture. Mix well and let it cook for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Pour the dry white wine and heavy cream into the skillet. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return the scallops to the skillet and combine them with the sauce.
- Divide the scallop mixture into individual scallop shells or baking dishes.
- Sprinkle grated cheese on top. If desired, add breadcrumbs for a crispy texture.
- Place the shells under the broiler in the oven and broil for 2 to 3 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
