How to Make Kimbap
Instructions
- Cook rice according to package instructions. While the rice is hot, season it with rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and sesame oil. Mix well and let it cool.
- Place a bamboo sushi mat on a clean surface, then put a sheet of plastic wrap over it. Lay one sheet of gim, shiny side down, on the plastic wrap.
- Wet your fingers to prevent sticking, then evenly spread a thin layer of rice over the seaweed, leaving about 1 inch of seaweed on the top edge.
- Lay one strip of radish, ham, omelet, cucumber, carrot, and crab stick about 1 inch above the bottom edge of the seaweed.
- Begin rolling the seaweed and rice from the bottom, tucking the fillings in as you go. Squeeze gently to form a tight roll.
- Moisten the top edge of the seaweed with a bit of water and press to seal the roll.
- Slice each roll into bite-sized pieces, and serve with soy sauce for dipping. Enjoy your homemade Kimbap!
