How to Make Panna cotta 🍮
Instructions
- First of all, we will put the gelatin sheets in a bowl, add cold water until they are fully covered and let them hydrate for 5 to 10 minutes while we prepare the rest of the recipe.
- In a saucepan we pour the cream, the sugar and the open vanilla pod or the cinnamon stick (if you want to flavor it), although simply with cream and sugar it is already spectacular in flavor and is the most classic way to prepare it. We put the pot on a medium-high heat and wait until it almost boils, which is when we start to see some bubbles.
- At that time we removed the pot from the fire and removed the cinnamon pod or stick.
- We drain the gelatine simply by taking it with our hands and squeezing it a little so that it releases the water and add it to the saucepan.
- Stir the mixture a little so that the gelatin is completely dissolved.
- Pour the mixture into the molds we have chosen (it can be a large one or 4 individual ones).
- We will wait for them to cool to room temperature and then we will put them in the fridge for 4-5 hours so that they set well. That is the minimum time, but I prepared them on the 24th for dessert on the 25th, that is, they were in the fridge for 12 hours and they unmolded perfectly.
- We can drink it cold just out of the fridge or take it out 30 minutes earlier so that it is at room temperature, and that way it is a little more aromatic and tastier.
- In addition, we can keep it in the fridge 3-4 days without problems as long as we cover it with plastic wrap or put the molds inside another closed container so that it does not pick up other odors.
- We can eat it as is, without anything else it is delicious, or serve it with honey, with melted chocolate or like me in this case, with a little homemade strawberry jam that I shared a few days ago.
