How to Make Japanese sushi
Instructions
- Rinse the Japanese rice several times until the water runs clear. Drain.
- In a medium pot, combine the rice and water and let it soak for 30 minutes.
- Bring the rice to medium-high heat and let it boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let the rice rest for 10 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small saucepan and heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Place the rice in a large bowl and add the rice vinegar mixture. Mix well.
- Slice the salmon, tuna, avocado, and cucumber into thin strips.
- Place the nori sheets on a sushi mat and spread the rice on top. Spread the rice evenly over the nori sheet.
- Place the ingredients in the center of the rice.
- Roll the sushi mat around the sushi roll. Lightly squeeze with your fingers.
- Cut the sushi roll into slices using a sharp knife.
- Serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
