How to Make Alheira
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the alheira sausages on a baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until they are cooked through and slightly crispy on the outside.
- While the sausages are baking, toast the slices of bread until they are golden brown.
- In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, chopped onion, and bell peppers. Sauté until the vegetables are tender and the onion is translucent.
- Push the vegetable mixture to the sides of the pan, creating space in the center. Crack the eggs into the center and scramble them until they are cooked.
- Break the toasted bread into small pieces and add them to the pan, mixing with the vegetables and eggs.
- Slice the cooked alheira sausages and add them to the pan. Cook for a few more minutes until everything is well combined.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste and garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve the Alheira hot, with a side of salad or your choice of greens. Enjoy your delicious Portuguese meal!
