How to Make Kanelbullar
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, cardamom, and salt. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk. Add melted butter to the milk mixture.
- Mix wet ingredients with the dry ingredients to form a dough. Knead on a floured surface until smooth. Let it rise for 1 hour in a covered bowl.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter, and sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over it. Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 pieces.
- Place rolls on a baking sheet and let them rise for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. While baking, make a simple syrup by dissolving sugar in water.
- Brush the warm buns with the sugar syrup for a shiny finish. Serve and enjoy your homemade Kanelbullar!
