How to Make Katsudon

Instructions

    Step 1
  • Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
  • Dredge in flour, dip in beaten eggs, and coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  • Step 3
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry pork until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
  • Step 4
  • In the same pan, sauté onions until translucent.
  • Step 5
  • Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl and pour over onions.
  • Step 6
  • Slice fried pork into strips and place them on top of the onions.
  • Step 7
  • Beat 4 eggs and pour evenly over the pork.
  • Step 8
  • Cover and cook until the eggs are set (about 5 minutes).
  • Step 9
  • Serve over a bowl of hot steamed rice.

  • Garnish with green onions or pickled ginger if desired.
