How to Make Farbreton
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish (9x9 inches or equivalent) with butter.
- In a small bowl, combine the prunes and dark rum. Let them soak while you prepare the batter.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then gradually add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until you have a smooth batter.
- Drain the prunes and spread them evenly in the bottom of the greased baking dish.
- Pour the batter over the prunes.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until the Far Breton is set and the top is golden brown.
- Allow the Far Breton to cool before slicing and serving. It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
