How to Make Kibbeh

Instructions

    Step 1
  • Rinse the bulgur wheat in cold water, then place it in a bowl and cover it with warm water. Let it soak for about 15 minutes, then drain any excess water and squeeze out the moisture from the bulgur using a clean kitchen towel.
  • Step 2
  • In a large bowl, combine the soaked bulgur, ground meat, chopped onion, mint, parsley, cumin, allspice, salt, and pepper. Mix everything thoroughly until it forms a smooth and cohesive mixture.
  • Step 3
  • Take a small portion of the mixture in your hand and shape it into an oval or round patty about 2 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick. Continue shaping the remaining mixture into patties.
  • Step 4
  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the kibbeh patties into the hot oil.
  • Step 5
  • Fry the kibbeh patties until they are golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Make sure they are cooked through.
  • Step 6
  • Remove the fried kibbeh from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  • Step 7
  • Serve your delicious fried kibbeh hot, with a side of tahini sauce or yogurt for dipping. Enjoy your Middle Eastern treat!
